Hi Linden and All, Thanks for posting more information! I am now using Freeplane with no troubles but still enjoy Freemind and may resurrect an old Linux machine of mine to keep it going. The icon size you choose will apply to your desktop immediately after selection. From the menu, select “View,” and choose your desired icon size-large, medium, or small-from the options. Follow these steps to resize desktop icons in Windows 10 and clean up your workspace: Right-click any blank space on your desktop. Issue with braches (sibilings and children)ĭesktop icons often take up too much screen space, contributing to desktop clutter. I used to work with it on Linux and Windows and dearly miss it. I tried various downloads from Sourceforge, also old versions, and the font problem makes my beloved Freemind completely unusable. I found my way by searching for "Freemind MacOs Monterey" and have exactly the same problem on two Macs: Air M1 and Macbook Pro Intel from 2019, both running Monterey. Just use Freeplane and import your maps or use the scale factor given. How about you just read all comments? There is no fix. Here is what I did to get Freemind to kind of work on my Mac with Monterey besides just running it in a Windows VM: WARNING: Backup your current install in case your. I am sure this is solvable with Freemind with time, but it is no longer under active development. Freeplane is much same (had to make some hotkey changes) and is much more feature rich. A lot of new features, but I will miss Freemind. Can I expect an update any time soon.Īfter a lot of hours of troubleshooting, I made the move to Freeplane after 15-ish years of Freemind. I'm generally good about saving regularly, but the risk of losing a large map is a bit of a dealbreaker. I've lost a couple of mindmaps and serval hours of work due to unexpected computer shutdowns. ![]() ![]() My only qualm is that, as far as I can tell, freemind doesn't have an autosave/document recovery function. As a PhD student, I find that mindmaps are excellent for notetaking and creating theoretical models. HTH, Chrisįirst of all, I want to say how much I love this software. Hi, usualy the autosave directory is /.freemind/ Have a look there.
